I'm listening to the Steve Dahl podcast from today and his old partner Garry stopped by for the whole show.
This is like the reunion of Dean & Jerry, two guys who made a huge impact on my life who had an acrimonious split with a very funny and not nearly as awkward as you'd think getting together again.
My mind is blown.
I know almost no one who reads this is from Chicago or has any idea what I'm talking about but it's a big deal to me anyway. heh.

This week's 100 Word Story Challenge was Roosters & Hernia and I think you'll really like my entry there.
You can here my famous (ahem) use of mouth trumpet run through a guitar amplifier on it, if that's your idea of a good time: http://podcasting.isfullofcrap.com/oldc rap/2006/08/weekly_challeng_30.html
Really though, they were all good this week. Mine was just the bluesiest.

Here it is Saturday night and I've a soiree to attend. I ordered a cab like an hour ago and am still waiting here.
The guy called me back a little while ago to see if I still needed a cab. I asked for an estimate on how long it would be and he would not give me one but instead launched into some spiel about how it's saturday night and it's harder to get a cab.
Really? Fuck! I thought it was tuesday!
I know what day it is and how busy it is, that's why I want a cab myself.
It's times like this, I really miss the ease of transportation in Chicago. Not only could I probably get to wherever I was going with ease on the L, if not I could get a cab just by walking outside and waiting around a minute or two no matter what the hour. Okay in some neighborhoods it might be like five minutes I'd have to wait but even so, it wouldn't be over an hour with no fucking estimated wait time.
